The Picture House’s cinema currently screens one film per week, with a 5pm and 8pm show.

The films are selected by a volunteer committee and we welcome your suggestions for future presentations.

We also plan to introduce art house movies once per month and introduce Saturday matinees for children once appropriate systems are in place.

Nicolas Cage is back as Ben Gates in the sequel to 2004's National Treasure. This time he is trying to clear his family's name after a page from an assassin's diary implicates his great grandfather in the murder of Abraham Lincoln. As in National Treasure Cage stars along side Jon Voight, Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha. Ed Harris,Helen Mirren and Harvey Keitel grace us with their presence in this follow up.

Day Lewis’s portrayal of his character picked up the actor in a leading role Oscar award at this year’s ceremony.

This movie scooped several of the major Oscar awards in 2008 and has been described as the best movie so far done by director siblings the Coen brothers. Set in West Texas 1980, Llewllyn Moss (Josh Brolin) finds an abandoned truck in the desert and it’s surrounded by men who were killed in a drug deal that went wrong. The film based on the novel 'No Country For Old Men' by Cormac McCarthy powerfully reveals something of the dark soul of America.

While there she transfers her affections to Aubrey (Michael Murphy) a fellow resident and slowly forgets her husband. Christie shines like never before in the film adapted from the short story 'The Bear Came Over The Mountain' by Alice Munro.
